Jerry and Terrie Dunlap
Jerry and Terrie Dunlap founded Camp Nuhop in 1974 and have been actively providing the Nuhop experience since the program’s inception. Jerry holds a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from the Ohio State University and was a high school guidance counselor for 27 years. Terrie is a graduate of Ashland University and has taught in special and regular education classrooms for 26 years. Both are retired from public education and have enjoyed watching the program change the lives of staff and campers.
Jerry
Jerry Dunlap — counselor, friend, confidant, encourager, giver of hugs and wet willies, husband, father and brother to many beyond his immediate family, hero, and mentor, died May 30, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic.  Five years after his diagnosis with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, Jerry’s passing came as a shock to his immediate family and the extended community of Camp Nuhop that Jerry served for nearly 35 years. Jerry, with his wife, Terrie, founded Camp Nuhop in 1974, which later grew into the Nuhop Center for Experiential Learning, of which Jerry served as Executive Director.
